Can GHV repeat as TIC baseball champs?

   Perhaps one of the biggest surprises in Top of Iowa Conference competition last year was the emergence of GHV as a baseball favorite. The Cards opened the season completely underneath everyone’s radar, shocking many of the league’s perennial favorites as they evolved into the eventual conference champion. The scenario will no doubt be very different this year, with the Cardinals heading into the season with a target on their backs. The big question as preseason drills continue is whether or not GHV has the personnel to replace a number of seniors that were lost to graduation. With seven returning letter winners on the roster, another title hunt could materialize.

            GHV won the TIC crown a year ago with a league record of 13 – 3 while going 18 – 12 overall. The Cards were hoping to make a deep run into post-season play but were victims of an upset loss in their first round Class 2A tournament game.
