Garner-Hayfield-Ventura wrestling had three meets within a week.

The Cardinals faced Central Springs, Iowa Falls-Alden and Rockford at home on Dec. 11, then wrestled North Butler-Clarksville, Belmond-Klemme and Rockford again on Thursday in North Butler.

GHV finished its week competing at the 11th Annual Jones Brothers Tournament hosted in Iowa Falls.

The Cardinals lost to Central Springs 51-23 and Iowa Falls-Alden 54-21, they beat Rockford 60-12.

Coach Corey Jenniges thought his guys wrestled pretty well on the night, recording mostly pins in their wins.

“We just wrestled smart,” he said. “A lot of guys being more patient and shooting to score.”

He said the wrestlers are doing a good job not just shooting to make a shot, but waiting for the right opportunity.
