Council bids farewell to city administrator

A farewell reception for Randy and LuAnn Lansing was held May 29. Randy Lansing, city administrator for Garner the past 7 1/2 years, has accepted a position in Nashville, N.C.

GARNER – The Garner City Council bid farewell to Randy Lansing last week and thanked him for his years of service to the City of Garner. Lansing begins his new job as city administrator of Nashville, North Carolina this month.

“You’ve been a leader,” said Mayor Ken Mick.

Mick thanked Lansing for his guidance and direction on city business, and foresight on various development projects.

“You’ve managed to keep those things going,” Mick said.

The mayor commended Lansing for the personal relationships he has built with city, school and county. Mick also applauded his volunteer participation in the community. Mick lauded Lansing’s assistance to newcomers to the community.

“On my behalf and the council, I want to thank you for the past 7½ years of leadership.”

The mayor and council wished Lansing much success in the future.

“It’s been fun and enjoyable working with the council and being a part of the Garner community,” Lansing responded. “Things just seem to happen in this town. There was rarely a dull moment.”

A public reception for Randy and LuAnn Lansing was held Wednesday, May 29.
