West Hancock softball travelled to Algona on July 3 to play Bishop-Garrigan in the first round of the 1A Regional Softball Tournament.

With the season on the line, both teams battled to keep their season alive.

            Bishop-Garrigan ended West Hancock’s year with a 6-0 victory.

The Eagles may have played their best game all season.

Pitcher Madison Eisenman allowed only five hits, walked six batters and struck out eight.

West Hancocks defense prevented Bishop-Garrigan from having big scoring innings, one of the biggest issues for the Eagles throughout the year.

Bishop-Garrigan scored effectively throughout the game, however.

West Hancock recorded five hits, but couldn’t translate it to runs.

Ryann Hagen, Sydney Hudspeth, Sydney Burgardt, Megan Schreur and Carlee Bruns all recorded singles.
