Garner-Hayfield-Ventura baseball continues its woes in its only game of the week; they were scheduled to play both West Hancock and Eagle Grove, but the games were canceled.

The Cardinals faced West Fork at home, where the two grinded out a 3-2 game in favor of the Warhawks.

An errant throw by GHV could have prevented West Fork from scoring one of the two runs they scored in the second inning.

GHV scored two runs in the fourth inning, falling behind by one run and couldn’t find an answer after that.

Even though it doesn’t seem like it, the team has continued to trend in the right direction.

“This group has been gritty and has worked hard,” coach Shawn Schlecter said. “This group continues to grow.”
