GHV’s Frayne earns TIC MVP

Carlee Frayne is the top of the Top of Iowa Conference this year.

After medaling at the TIC conference tournament held at North Iowa on May 6, the junior was named the most valuable player in the conference this year.

She golfed an 83 on the 18-hole day, splitting the front and back 43 and 40.

“Carlee outclassed the rest of the field, finishing 13 strokes better than the runner up,” coach Todd Greiman said. “Carlee is emerging as one of the top area players and has some lofty goals as postseason play approaches.”

In contrast, the team itself placed in sixth with a team score of 483.

“As a team we clearly underachieved at the conference tournament,” coach Todd Greiman said. “Realistically we should have finished two or three places higher in the team standings but the girls struggled all day in spite of almost ideal playing conditions.”
