Lt. Gov. brings Christmas cheer to West Hancock Elementary

Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg acts out the words of Dr. Seuss in West Hancock on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the first and third grade children of West Hancock Elementary School had a special visitor bring some holiday cheer through the magic of Dr. Seuss.

Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg brought one of his favorite books “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” to promote reading to the students.  Gregg read the story to two classes in the elementary library.

During the story Gregg did his best Grinch and Little Cindy Lou Who voices and would pause to ask the kids questions, have them say phrases with him and occasionally debate the unique word choices and spelling of the legendary children’s author.

Once the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes and the story wrapped up, Gragg asked the children some questions and he gave the kids a challenge for Winter break.

Gregg wants students to read at least one book for each day they have off from school.
