Molly Maurer named 2017 Little Miss Duesey

GARNER – Molly Maurer, the daughter of Matt and Amy Maurer of Garner, was crowned Little Miss Duesey 2017. The Little Miss Duesey Pageant is held annually as part of the Duesey Days celebration in Garner.

Fifteen girls participated in the 2017 contest, which is sponsored by the Garner Wa-tan-ye Club. The girls were interviewed on stage by radio personality J. Brooks and by KIMT’s Robyn Oguinye.

Molly will be a second grader at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura elementary where her favorite subject is science, “because I get to learn a lot of new things.”

Molly thinks she would like to be a famous singer when she grows up.

During her stage interview, Molly said she likes gymnastics. Her favorite family trip was a trip to Disney World.

Avery Lloyd, the daughter of Mark and Stephanie Lloyd, was first runner up. During her on-stage interview, Avery shared that she likes to go to the pool in the summer. She is also ballet and tap dance lessons. Her favorite family trip was a trip to the Omaha Zoo.

Macy McMahon was named second runner-up. The daughter of Tom and Cathy McMahon, Macy likes to go camping with her family and ride her bicycle. She also is learning to play the piano.
