Voter pre-registration deadline for Garner special election
GARNER – Hancock County Auditor Michelle Eisenman released the following information pertaining to the Tuesday, May 2 special election for the City of Garner on the proposed hotel-motel tax.
The pre-registration deadline for the May 2, 2017, Special City (City of Garner) Election is Friday, April 21, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. After the pre-registration deadline, new voters will be required to follow the Election Day Registration requirements. Please contact the Auditor’s office at 641-923-3163 for information regarding Election Day Registration.
The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Friday, April 28, 2017 at 5 p.m. The last day to request and vote an absentee ballot in-person at the Auditor’s office is May 2, 2017 at 11 a.m.
Polling Place Change
Due to the completion of the remodeling of the Garner Public Library, persons who live in the City of Garner will now return back to the Garner Public Library as their polling place. Voters will no longer vote at the Garner City Hall.
The address of the change in polling place is: Garner Public Library, 416 State Street, Garner, Iowa.
This will be effective for this election and all elections going forward.
