West Hancock boys golf team reached the end of their season.

With only postseason meets left the Eagles traveled to Armstrong on May 6 for the Top of Iowa Conference tournament.

They then went to Nashua-Plainfield for sectionals on Friday for a chance to play at state.

Neither team nor any individual would move forward.

The Eagles would place sixth at conference and eighth on Friday.

On May 6, the team put up a score of 396 in 18-holes.

Keifer Carlson was the lead golfer on the team, placing ninth with a score of 91.

The junior performed well on the back nine with 42 strokes.

He received All-Conference honors at the tournament.

The other golfers had a similar experience as Carlson who had golfed better in the back half.

“It took a bit to get into it for a couple of them that day, but they were pretty much playing their averages, and they all improved on their 2nd 9,” coach Melinda Tremmel said.
