West Hancock volleyball played two home matches on Oct. 2 and on Thursday and participated in a tournament at North Iowa school in Buffalo Center.

The Eagles first match on Oct. 2 against Bishop Garrigan did not go well, as the girls were swept in three sets.

The team showed a strong first set losing only 21-25, but couldn’t seem to maintain that energy in the next two sets losing 11-25 and 14-25.

Amanda Chizek recorded 10 kills that match and had four solo blocks.

Emily Ryerson also six kills of her own and three total blocks, two by herself.

Kennedy Kelly showed had 11 successful serves out of 12, she also had an ace and four digs.

The Eagles match against North Union on Thursday was much closer as the match went a full five sets.

Ultimately, the match was North Unions winning sets two (25-7), three (25-17) and five (15-6).
