WH Softball edges closer to first win of season

 

            West Hancock Softball displayed quality play in its previous two away games.

            After a routing at home against Rockford, 22-5, on May 25, the Eagles took its opponents to the final inning on May 29 and Wednesday.

            May 29 in Lake Mills the team displayed heart in a barn burner where Lake Mills pulled out the 12-11 win.

            Wednesday the team went into Buffalo Center but couldn’t catch up to North Iowa in a 9-14 defeat.

            The Eagles and Bulldogs clawed and scratched for the victory on May 29.

            The teams traded the lead combining for 23 total hits.

            Sydney Zamago almost put an exclamation point on the team’s first victory in over a year when she cracked a grand slam homerun in the fifth inning.

            The Eagles led in the final inning by two runs, but were unable to stop Lake Mills from taking the victory.
